Dr. Albert P. Belle Isle, Member of the Board
Dr. Albert Belle Isle is an independent investor in technology-based companies. He is a director of Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY), a member of its audit committee, and chairman of its nominating committee.
For six years he was president of Custom Silicon, Inc., a venture capital-backed semiconductor business, which he subsequently sold to NCR Corporation. This followed three years as vice president in charge of a division of Wang Laboratories, Inc. For five years prior to that, he was director of an industrial research laboratory with the General Electric Company, after a decade of engineering and management positions in GE’s aerospace business.
Dr. Belle Isle graduated from GE’s program for general managers at Crotonville, NY, after earning a BEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MS and a PhD from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. In his early career he authored papers in Automatica and the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, and was granted patents for digital circuits and computer architectures. He is a senior member of IEEE, a member of Sigma Xi, and has held adjunct faculty appointments at Boston University, Syracuse University, Union College and MIT.
